A new documentary has just launched that lifts the lid on the Jerry Falwell Jr. saga, sadly dragging Christianity through the gutter once again.

God Forbid: The Sex Scandal That Brought Down a Dynasty has just been released by Hulu and is a no-holds-barred story by one of the main players, who has mostly been kept out of media reach: the pool boy.

For those not educated on who Jerry Falwell Jr. is, he is the son of Jerry Falwell, who founded Liberty University in 1971. Falwell senior has since passed away, but his son has been the President of what is a prestigious education facility. The role also comes with a gigantic salary, as Falwell Jr. was reportedly paid $1 million per annum from the university.

As the Hulu documentary trailer states, the Falwell’s are like the Gatsby’s of the south, referring to their wealth and reputation. Please be aware that the trailer below contains some coarse language and sexual references.

Falwell Jr. made headlines in 2019 as the story of his private life slowly started making its way into the public arena. He was forced to defend the fact that he cut his personal trainer in on a ‘sweet’ property deal.

Reuters in 2019 reported that the head of the nonprofit university sold a property that was donated to the organization back in 2011 by a deceased follower. According to Reuters, Falwell Jr. transferred ownership of the sports facility to his personal trainer, Benjamin Crosswhite in 2016.

It is also alleged that Liberty University committed approximately $650,000 up front to lease the tennis courts back from Crosswhite for a 9-year period.

Fair enough, and as that transaction was between Falwell Jr. and Liberty, it was the end of the matter and not for public fodder.

In 2020, however, Falwell Jr. was placed on a leave of absence by the university’s Board of Trustees after an embarrassing photo was posted online. Falwell Jr. posted an image to social media of himself with a young lady, with both of them having their pants slightly unzipped. The image has since been removed, but a copy of the offending image can be seen below.

In an interview with radio station WLNI in 2020 he stated, “Yeah, it was weird. She’s pregnant. She couldn’t get her pants zipped and I was like trying to like… I had on a pair of jeans I haven’t worn in a long time and couldn’t get zipped either.

“So, I just put my belly out like hers. She’s my wife’s assistant she’s a sweetheart. I should have never put it up and embarrassed her. I’ve apologized to everybody. I promised my kids I will try to be a good boy from here on out.”

Soon after stepping down from his role after the above photo was shared to social media, Falwell Jr. resigned from his role as claims about his wife’s affair began to make their way in the public arena.

In an interview with the Washington Examiner, Falwell Jr. claimed that his wife Becki’s affair with their pool boy, which he stated was over quickly, would see the former lover “threaten them with blackmail”.

The pool boy in question, Giancarlo Granda, claimed in an interview with Reuters in 2020 that the Liberty boss knew about Granda’s sexual affair with his wife and liked watching them together.

Liberty then reportedly paid Falwell an exit fee of $10.5 million. Now, the story is re-surfacing as the pool boy, who has no doubt been paid a handsome sum by Hulu, is telling his side of the story. At the time of publishing, the Falwell’s have made no comment relating to the documentary.
