It doesn’t seem like it was that long ago that we were all excited about a new decade and all the opportunities it would bring. However, within two months, the world has fallen captive to a global pandemic.
As such, Jentezen Franklin has called on Christians to fast and pray. “Times like these always require action from the body of Christ,” as stated on his website.
“We are in the middle of a global pandemic, many parts of our nation are facing economic disaster, our country is more divided than it has ever been, our kids are going back to school and we have an upcoming election that will determine so much about the future of our nation.
“Beginning on August 1, we will be joining together for 21 days of prayer and fasting. Join us throughout the fast for online prayer services, messages and other resources. Together, we are going to break the power of the enemy in Jesus name.”
In addition to this, with American needing to select a new president, right in the middle of this pandemic, it is obvious that Christians need to put their political differences to one side and collectively gather to fast and pray for the further of our nation.
The ramifications from unemployment alone, let alone the businesses that will not make it through this unprecedented period of time in our lives, means prayer is about all we have left.
